Portland sees slowly clearing skies Friday; Saturdays rain starts by afternoon [Video]

Portland’s string of days with mild temps and partly cloudy skies continues Friday, but more active weather hits on Saturday.

The National Weather Service says a strong upper low developing offshore during the day Friday will bring widespread rain Saturday that may be heavy at times.

But before we get to the weekend, Friday’s weather will be cloudy to start, and then gradually clear to partly sunny by the afternoon. Portland’s high will reach about 78 degrees.

The system bringing rain on Saturday has slowed its progress enough that no rain is expected Friday night or Saturday morning. Portland will start the weekend with some cloudy skies early Saturday, then see clouds increase throughout the morning.

The metro area has a 40% chance of showers after about 11 a.m. High temps should reach about 82 degrees.
