New Sensory Building Added to the Herkimer County Fair | Community [Video]

HERKIMER COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS, N.Y. — The Herkimer County Fair has added a new building for kids who have sensory issues. 

This is the first time in the fair’s history they have had this building and is located near the entrance of the fairgrounds.

This building is designed for kids who have sensory issues and is away from much of the noise and lights.

The building was designed so that kids could have a safe, quiet place to relax.

The area is designed to dampen noise and has no bright lights inside. 

By having the building at the fair, children with disabilities can come in and relax away from the sights and sounds of the fair. 

They’re different items in the room that kids can touch, along with a mat for them to lie down as well. 

The building was brought together by the fair board of directors.
