Tim Walz coming to Omaha this weekend [Video]

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Tim Walz is planning a visit to his home state with a campaign event this weekend in Nebraska’s “blue dot.”

The Harris-Walz campaign said the Nebraska native will be at an Omaha campaign event this Saturday. Walz, the governor of Minnesota, was announced as Vice President Harris’ running mate last week.

Walz was born in West Point, raised in Valentine, and went to Chadron State College before heading to Alliance, where Walz followed in his father’s footsteps, working as a public school teacher and administrator, and also met his wife, Gwen, who is from Minnesota.

A 90-second campaign ad dropped by the “Harris For President” team earlier this month showed clips of Walz in the classroom. In a campaign ad, Walz says: “And I tried to teach my students what small town Nebraska taught me: respect, compromise, and service to country.”
