Kamala Harris not given a press conference [Video]

Vice President Kamala Harris has not held a formal news conference or sit-down interview in 23 days since becoming the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

Harris became the de facto nominee after President Biden backed her on July 21 after withdrawing from the campaign, and she has now officially secured the nomination. She has been active on the campaign trail, speaking at various events and making informal statements to reporters at various points, but she has not held a formal news conference or conducted a wide-ranging interview in the three weeks since.

The left-leaning Washington Post editorial board challenged Harris over dodging the media on Sunday, saying of her opponent, “at least he has taken questions.” The Post said she should account for her numerous policy shifts, including on fracking, border security and private health insurance.
