1 dead, 1 hurt after shooting inside Dorchester apartment [Video]

A man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting in Dorchester Monday evening, according to Boston police.

Officers went to 5 Trent St. at 6:36 p.m. Tuesday for a report of two people shot, Boston Police Deputy Superintendent Paul McLaughlin told reporters during a press conference at the scene. Two men were found with gunshot wounds and taken to the hospital, he said.

At the hospital, one of the two men was pronounced dead. The other man’s injuries were “non-fatal,” according to McLaughlin.

McLaughlin said an investigation into the incident was still in the early stages and police were trying to confirm the facts and circumstances. He confirmed the shooting took place inside.

It is “way too early” to say if the men who were injured knew the shooter, McLaughlin said.

Police on Monday canvassed the Dorchester neighborhood where the shooting took place, seeking video footage from neighbors. …
