Neighbors call Dorchester Co. flooding a simple fix [Video]

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – Many in the Summerwood community near Eagle Creek are asking officials about the creeks’ flood risk management project after seeing flooding from Debby this past week.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District and Dorchester County have been working towards this study phase of the project.

The neighborhood is one of many that goes along Eagle Creek.

One neighbor has been doing his own research, because he believes the best way to fix this is to widen and deepen the creek by their homes.

“I got on paper 14 street floods since 2002 the longer we take for this 18-month study you know the more times we’re going to flood,” the community member said.
