Woman died in drowning at Taunton pond, police say [Video]

A woman died Saturday afternoon in a drowning at a Taunton pond, according to police.

Taunton police and firefighters responded to Bunk Pond, which is just north of I-495 on the Raynham/Taunton town line, around 4:30 p.m. for a report of a drowning, police said in a press release. Massachusetts State Police, Massachusetts Environmental Police and several dive teams also responded.

Ultimately, law enforcement recovered a woman’s body from the pond, police said. No further information about the drowning has been released.
