Athletes unite to fight diabetes in the inaugural Field of Dreams in Windsor [Video]

WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) – The Windsor Community came out in full force Saturday afternoon to support the Kendall Wyche Foundation’s first Field of Dreams: Athletes Unite to Fight Diabetes.

Saturday’s event featured a variety of sports for children to choose from and they were encouraged to play all day.

“This is just an opportunity for us to get the children out in the community… and they can just be kids. Not kids with type 1 diabetes… Just kids today,” said Catherine Latoya Grant-Alstin, board treasurer and CEO/Co-Founder of art Financial Solutions.

The idea for the Kendall Wyche Foundation began when Constantine Alleyne’s daughter Kendall was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2020. While making lifestyle changes for her daughter to better live with diabetes, Alleyne was inspired to create a foundation that could help other families do the same.
