Ottawa County Fair celebrates youth and community in Its 105th year [Video]

MIAMI, Okla. — An annual event that’s been around for more than a century has been underway since Saturday in Miami.

“It’s brought me a lot of leadership skills and a lot of new friends and the ability to step out of my comfort zone,” said Ivy Lipps.

Miami FFA student Ivy Lipps is among hundreds of showers in the 105th Ottawa County Fair. She’s been showing animals for three years now and is the first in her family.

“I always wanted a goat, and my dad traded a hay bale for it at my very first county fair, and the goat was just too much, and I evolved to sheep,” said Lipps.

Lipps and her sheep Little Willie won this year’s grand champion competition.

“I came out of that and like, I just wanted to like, I just wanted to cry almost. So it was such a big win. …
