Old Depot Vineyard and Winery south of Brady brings in customers from all over [Video]

BRADY, Neb. (KOLN) – The Old Depot Vineyard and Winery is a unique place to visit, and it turns out the building used to be the train depot from Gothenburg.

Sharon Axthelm, a co-owner of the business, said that the Old Depot Vineyard and Winery was not always what it is today.

“This building was the train depot in Gothenburg,” Axthelm said. “In the 1970s, after it was done functioning as a train depot, it was moved to Lafayette Park in that community. Over the years, the building was home to a day care, it was a boy scout headquarters, and it was a store. Eventually, Gothenburg decided to release the property, and we bought it.”

Axthelm says she and her husband both operate the business, and she says they didn’t have any major challenges moving it.
