ROME, N.Y. — Rome Rescue Mission Executive Director Matthew “Matt” Miller has died. He was 63.

The longtime leader of the Mission helped hundreds of people over his decades of work at the Rome Rescue Mission.

Rome Mayor Jeffery Lanigan said, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Matt Miller, the dedicated executive director of the Rome Rescue Mission. Matt’s unwavering commitment and compassionate leadership have profoundly impacted countless lives, providing hope and support to those in need. His tireless efforts and selfless service will be remembered and cherished by our community. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
