334 Prevention Project working to stop substance misuse in youth [Video]

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) – The Wiregrass is on a mission to prevent substance abuse, especially in our youth.

The 334 Prevention Project Youth Council had their first meeting today at Troy University-Dothan.

The event featured several team building games and icebreakers.

There were also guest speakers as well as an overview of the council’s goals.

“We have 48 youth council members. If each one of them walks away with a passion for prevention, we couldn’t ask for more,” said 334 Prevention Project executive director Dana Bonney

The council is made up of kids from high schools all across the Wiregrass.

These kids are all excited to make an impact on their community.

“I definitely look forward to stepping into a leadership position, especially in a world where it’s a common thing to be tempted by drugs and substances,” said Lori Jane Woodham, a student at Headland High School.
