Omaha Correctional Center employee arrested for alleged illegal communication with inmate [Video]

Two former employees with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services were arrested this week in relation to alleged illegal communication with inmates, according to court documents.

The department said in a Friday press release that two women — a 43-year-old former corporal at the Omaha Correctional Center and a 37-year-old former records officer at the Reception and Treatment Center in Lincoln — each face one felony count of allowing a committed offender to have unauthorized visitation or communication.

Details regarding the arrest of the former Reception and Treatment Center employee were not available on Friday afternoon, but an arrest affidavit provided some details on the arrest of the former Omaha Correctional Center employee.
