Shooting near Montgomery College in Rockville [Video]

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Montgomery College said its Rockville campus was on a brief lockdown Friday afternoon after a shooting took place near the school.

The Rockville City Police Department (RCPD) said that shortly before 4:30 p.m., officers and the Montgomery County Fire Rescue Services responded to the 400 block of College Parkway for a shooting.

Arriving units found a man outside of his residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Responders transported the man to a local hospital, where he was in critical condition as of Friday night, according to police.

In a social media post at 5:03 p.m., Montgomery College said police were searching the campus and the surrounding areas for suspects involved in the off-campus shooting.
