Owners speak out after Bangor P.D. arrests man accused of burglarizing their businesses | Local News [Video]

BANGOR — The Bangor Police Department have arrested a man who they say over the past several days burglarized three downtown businesses on Hammond Street.

39-year-old Richard Burrill, a local transient who’s, “Well known to police,” according to the press statement, was arrested on Wednesday, July 31st, and brought to the Penobscot County Jail.

He’s charged with theft, trespassing, and violating the conditions of his release, and the burglaries of The Butcher The Baker, located at 84 Hammond Street, Bangor Wine & Cheese, located at 86 Hammond Street, and Utopia, located at 96 Hammond Street.

Eric Mihan, Owner of Bangor Wine & Cheese says his store was burglarized during the night of Monday, July 29th. Mihan says Burrill stole a safe, a red dolly, a company shirt, and a sweatshirt belonging to Mihan.
