Mike Parry issued an update after the broadcaster announced he is unable to walk and has been forced to use a crutch. The GB News regular took to social media and was inundated with messages of support.

The commentator, who is also a regular on The Jeremy Vine Show, uploaded a photo where he sported a weary expression on his face and could be seen wearing a knee brace.

Mike tweeted to his 129,000 followers: “OK FOLKS …Health bulletin… I’ve ruptured the meniscus cartilage in my right knee rendering me unable to walk.

“Extremely painful but I’m just gritting my teeth.

“Fortunately it does not affect my ability to talk or smile so hoping to stick with you on radio and TV.”

The on-screen broadcaster fell short of revealing what caused his knee injury.

He was swiftly inundated with messages of support as Matthew Stadlen remarked: “Really sorry to hear this, Mike. Wishing you a speedy recovery.”
