The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that there will be nighttime lane restrictions this week on Interstate 83 so a contractor can trim trees around overhead message boards between Exit 45 (Paxton Street/Bass Pro Drive) and 29th Street in Swatara Township, Dauphin County.
Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday through Friday nights. There will be right lane closures in both directions of I-83 during work hours, a press release said.
Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.
This work is part of a project to maintain or repair Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) equipment in multiple counties in the PennDOT District 8 south central Pennsylvania region, as well as elsewhere in the state.
