Missing woman’s remains found in Millcreek Canyon [Video]

GRAND COUNTY, Utah — According to a press release by the Grand County Sheriff’s Office, the remains of a woman were found in Millcreek Canyon on Monday. The remains were identified today as those of Maranda Ankofski, who went missing with her husband, Ray Ankofski, in late June this year.

The Ankofskis were initially reported missing after failing to return from a trip on the Steel Bender off-road trail in Grand County. A large search and rescue operation ensued, but was unable to locate the pair. 

Now, the remains of Maranda Ankofski have been found and identified, but Ray Ankofski remains missing.

“The Grand County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest condolences to Maranda Ankofski’s family and friends during this difficult time,” the press release said. “We understand the profound impact this news may have on the community and are committed to providing updates as more information becomes available.”
