TOLEDO, Ohio — With social media usage among children increasing, so too are the numbers of distractions caused by cell phones – especially in the classroom. 

To combat this, some school districts nationwide are turning to devices such as locking cell phone pouches that aim to curb distractions posed by students having open access to their phones in schools. One such device is made by San Francisco-based Yondr.

The Yondr pouch was created to lock cell phones inside so they can’t distract students and others around them. From arrival to dismissal, this helps to create a phone-free space where genuine connection, focus and creativity can flourish.

It’s simple – place your phone inside the pouch, lock the pouch, then tap your locked pouch on an “unlocking base” when you’re ready to use it again.
