Leaders outline State of Public Safety in Kansas City [Video]

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Community leaders came together Tuesday to try to stop violent crime. The event hosted by the KC Greater Chamber was titled the State of Public Safety in Kansas City.

It took place at Union Station, where the rest of the nation may have got a perception of Kansas City as a potentially violent place with the Super Bowl rally shooting. Now, city leaders are looking to restore that image as it prepares for the World Cup in less than two years.

“We’ve done critical incident preparation. We’ve done operational plans. We are working. We will be ready for FIFA in 2026,” Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves said.
