New Orleans City Council grills Entergy on recent power outages [Video]

Frustration over power outages!On Tuesday Entergy faced tough questions from New Orleans City Councilmembers. It comes as thousands of New Orleanians have had their power out in broad daylight several times over the past few months.Entergy says year to date, there have been over 1,500 outages in all of the districts.They attributed 57% of outages this year to non-fair weather events. Councilman Joe Giarrusso says about 20,000 customers have been without power in the last four months. “I am tired of being eaten by my neighbors about these issues that have been going on for such a long time,” Giarrusso said. “I can take heat for a good 24 to 48 hours but when it’s a recurring issue number one, and when there is no communication on those recurring issues number two, and then number three most important we can’t articulate what the problem is, you’re stuck.
