Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan on Biden’s decision, VP Harris [Video]

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan Monday morning said President Joe Biden’s decision to drop out of the presidential race was selfless and that she supported the administration, though she called the treatment of Biden “disgraceful.”

Speaking at a press conference on the city’s plan to mitigate homelessness, Deegan said she was a “huge fan” of the president and his policies.

“He has sent so many of our tax dollars home to help us on so many critical issues, from public safety to infrastructure,” Deegan said. “Frankly, economic development. We’re very grateful to him.”

Pundits and politicians have highlighted Biden’s age and cognitive ability to serve another term, with criticisms mounting after his June 27 debate performance.
