Bedford County Public Schools to hold “Pack The Bus” event early August [Video]

Bedford County Public Schools will collect school supplies Aug. 2 to help students in need in its “Pack the Bus” drive, the division announced in a press release Monday afternoon.

In collaboration with the Bedford County Department of Social Services and Bedford Walmart, the event will take place from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“Students being prepared for the start of a school year enhances the school experience, which is a primary focus of BCPS and without our community and partners this would not be possible,” the division said in its release.

Organizations can get involved in three ways: by placing a donation box at their company, a monetary donation box could be made or can come out to help the day of the event.

BCPS said families in need can pick up a form from Bedford County Department of Social Services or give them a call for assistance.
