New Developments on Duofold Building in Ilion Following Recent Storms | Local [Video]

ILION, N.Y. — There’s new information on the future of the Duofold building in Ilion following a line of severe storms that hit the area last week.

Mayor John Stephens stated that the high winds from the storms caused the vacant building to collapse.

The mayor stated in a press release that “at approximately 4:20 p.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2024, the Village of Ilion Fire and Police Departments, and the Mayor’s Office, were dispatched to a possible building collapse at 7 Spruce St., the vacant Duofold complex.”

“Upon arrival of all departments,” the release continued, “it was determined that a partial collapse of the West end structure of the complex had occurred. The structure had collapsed and pulled away from the connected building and left the far west portion of the building still standing.
