Ala. State Superintendent expected to share more on possible takeover of Bessemer City Schools [Video]

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – We are On Your Side and working to bring you the latest on the potential state takeover of the Bessemer City School System.

On Thursday, the school board met for their annual capital improvement planning meeting.

While school board leaders and the superintendent declined talking about their response to state superintendent’s concerns, school leaders did say they expect the state superintendent to put out a press release at some point Friday on the situation.

Still, there is no news from the board. On Thursday, they opened up the Capital Improvement Planning Meeting by saying this is simply standard operating procedure and that nothing special or out of the ordinary would take place.
