Mass IT outage causes issues with banks, airlines and 911 [Video]

ST. LOUIS — Major airlines, emergency services and businesses around the world have been impacted by a massive IT glitch caused by a problem with Microsoft cloud computing services. The cause, exact nature and scale of the outage was unclear at first. 

In an update on X, Microsoft said, “The underlying cause has been fixed, however, residual impact is continuing to affect some Microsoft365 apps and services. We’re conducting additional mitigations to provide relief.”

Flights have been grounded nationwide including some at St. Louis Lambert airport. Delta, United and American Airlines flights were grounded as of 6:30 a.m.
