Phoenix nonprofit heading to Tucson [Video]

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A nonprofit organization is heading to Tucson to offer several services for people experiencing homelessness.

Cloud Covered Streets has been operating in Phoenix for four years and in Fort Worth, Texas, for two years.

The main services at the mobile units are free showers and the opportunity to wash clothes using multiple washers and dryers.

According to executive director Robert Thornton, the ability to clean yourself and your clothes helps people build confidence and identity. But the services don’t stop there.

“Every person that uses the shower receives a new pair of underwear, a new T-shirt, new socks, and new shorts. We’ll have sports bras for the women,” Thornton said.

“They can go in there with their dirty, old clothing, shower, and have a completely new wardrobe to change into.

The organization will also offer free haircuts.
