NASA transmitted a Missy Elliott song to space [Video]

(CNN) – If it is possible there is life on Venus, they heard some good music recently.

NASA said it transmitted Missy Elliott’s song “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)” to Venus via radio antennas.

It took nearly 14 minutes for the song to travel about 158 million miles to the planet of love.

Elliott posted to social media about the feat saying, “The sky is not the limit, it’s just the beginning.”

Elliott plays with space iconography in her work often, something NASA nodded to in a statement about the transmission.

Elliot has been receiving long-due recognition here on Earth.

In 2019, the rapper became the first woman hip-hop artist to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Four years later, she became the first female rapper to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
