KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) – It’s something that can affect your community — fentanyl.
Over the last few years, police in Kansas City, Kan., have seen the levels of the deadly drug spike.
Now, they’re trying to get the message out to communities, in any way they can, about the dangers.
The KCK Police Narcotics Task Force held a community meeting Monday night.

Police said this kind of community outreach is one of their newest techniques to target fentanyl and the overdoses that it creates.
“The main thing we want the community to understand is that we need your help,” said Capt. Shawn Magee, “Now in our city with the amount of distribution that we have that we’re targeting, we don’t want to see one of the children of our distributors to accidentally get one of these pills.”
