2 killed in Montgomery Township fire early on Sunday morning [Video]

LE SUEUR COUNTY, Minn. — Two people died early on Sunday morning after a fire at their home in Montgomery Township, officials said. 

According to a press release, the Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office got a report of a structure fire on Jindra Lane. A woman in the house told officials the house was on fire and she and her husband were trapped inside. 

Multiple crews, including the Montgomery and Le Center fire departments and sheriff’s deputies, responded to the location. The first deputy on the scene said they attempted to enter the house but were driven back by heat and heavy smoke.
