Kauai’s remote Na Pali Coast Presents Challenges for Search Operation | News [Video]

KAUAI (Island News)– Authorities announced at a press conference Friday that weather did not appear to be a factor in the crash. Meanwhile, the search operation underway on Kauai faces unique challenges along the remote Na Pali coastline.

The search operation involves Kauai County, the U.S. Coast Guard and even the Air National Guard. Currently, search operations continue in one of the most remote areas of the Hawaiian Islands. Cliffs range from sea level to 4,000 feet along a 15 mile plus stretch.

Hiking alone only gets you so far. The coastline hosts miles of terrain only accessible by sea or air.
