Emily Henry has a funny story for you, and soon you can see it on the big screen!
On Tuesday, July 9, it was announced that the #1 New York Times bestseller will be adapting her hit romance novel Funny Story for the big screen.
According to a press release, Lyrical Media and Ryder Picture Company are set to produce with Henry writing the script. The film does not yet have a director.
The book was released on April 23, 2024 and follows children’s librarian Daphne as she plots to rekindle her love with her ex-fiancé Peter, who left her for his childhood best friend Petra.
“Stranded in her ex’s lakeside hometown, Daphne becomes roommates with Petra’s ex, Miles, and despite their differences, they form a tenuous friendship and a plan to get back at — or with — their exes,” the synopsis reads.
