FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY | Excessive Heat Warning [Video]

(WSAZ) – The steam-bath feel hit us right from the start of the day, with temperatures already in the 70s at sunrise and cruising toward 90° before lunchtime, even with passing clouds in the sky. This afternoon’s high temperatures should be in the mid-90s, but that humidity will elevate into the triple-digits for what could be as much as six hours in a row. This is why the National Weather Service has gone with “Excessive Heat Warnings” for the Huntington-Charleston-Logan corridor, above the seemingly ‘usual’ Heat Advisory. The best recommendation this afternoon is to simply stay within the comfy confines of air conditioning, but if you do go outside, hopefully, it’s because you’re on the way to a different beat-the-heat excursion, like going to the pool.
