Local movie theater set to close [Video]

MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio (WJW) – The Atlas Cinemas theater at the Eastgate Shopping Centre in Mayfield Heights has announced it is closing.

Its last day in Mayfield Heights is July 14.

Here’s what the theater said in a press release:

“Due to the shopping center wanting to redevelop the theater space into something other than a movie theater, Atlas Cinemas must close.”

Their statement continued.

“Atlas Cinemas would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our loyal customers, community, dedicated staff and management over the years.”

They say they will remain open at the Great Lakes Mall in Mentor.
