Nearly half of businesses predict supply chain disruptions up to 2030 [Video]

A survey from professional services firm PwC has found that 46% of respondents believe that there will be an increasing frequency of severe supply chain disruptions to 2030.

This comes as just 8% of industry leaders report that they have fully remodelled their supply chains to counter disruptive trends in the market.

The PwC study surveyed 1,000 supply chain executives around the world, including in Ireland, to get a scope on the issues and solutions for increased supply chain disruptions.

The biggest disruptions reported by executives were geopolitical crises, climate change and technological advancements, with counteracting plans hinging on increased transparency, AI and robotics and increased stakeholder engagement.

An overwhelming majority (92%) of these believe that their supply chains are not yet ready to support service oriented or sustainable business models.
