Annual Shish-Ka-Bob set for Sunday to benefit Lebanese community [Video]

PEORIA (25News Now) – Peoria Itoo Society members were preparing meals Friday for this weekend’s Shish-Ka-Bob, one of two major fundraisers each year to support this area’s Lebanese community people in Lebanon.

The 57th annual dinner is served Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Itoo Hall located at 4909 West Farmington Road.

On the menu is either a beef or chicken kabob, cabbage rolls, Lebanese salad and pita bread. The cost is $18.

Guests can dine in the air-conditioned hall, in the outdoor pavilion or tent. There will also be live music and games

“This is one of our two largest fundraisers of the year. This helps us secure funds in order to carry us to November to our supper so we can support our community here in the Peoria area and in Lebanon,” said Kristen Reynolds, who is the event’s chair.
