Boulder View Fire quickly grows to an estimated 1,000 acres near Scottsdale [Video]

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Boulder View Fire rapidly grew to an estimated 500 acres burned on Thursday, nearly one hour after it had reportedly started.

By 6:30 p.m., it was up to an estimated 1,000 acres.

Officials believe the fire was human caused but said it is still under investigation.

The fire began around 3 p.m. near the Boulder Heights community in north Scottsdale.

According to a post by the Arizona Department of Forestry and Land Management, multiple aircraft were ordered to help contain the blaze along with 150 firefighters.

Cave Creek Road and Bartlett Dam Road were closed as firefighters worked to contain the fire development.

Five structures were evacuated for the fire and 50 others were threatened in the area.

The wildfire was burning in the direction of the Wildcat Fire that burned 14,000 acres near Bartlett Lake about one month ago.
