Portland sees light, scattered showers Thursday, highs only reaching low 70s [Video]

If you woke up to a wet yard early Thursday, it’s likely due to the weak weather system that is moving through the region spreading scattered showers and bringing in plenty of clouds.

The National Weather Service says showers continued through the evening and into the morning but most of the rain fell along the coast and in the higher terrain. Northwest Oregon is likely to see only a trace of rainfall Thursday, with some areas measuring about 0.15 inches under steadier showers.

Portland has a 40% chance of continued showers under mostly cloudy skies. The high temperature will be a cool 71 degrees. This is about seven degrees cooler than what is average during the last few days of June, but it won’t last long.
