West Baden Springs Hotel nears completion of repairs to iconic dome after hailstorm | News from WDRB [Video]

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A year after the West Baden Springs Hotel was damaged by a hailstorm repairs are almost complete.

According to a social media post by the French Lick Resort, the last clay tile is now in place around the outside of the dome.

The historic atrium was damaged when baseball-sized hail hit in June 2023. Since then, the hotel has replaced 12,000 square feet of glass panels and original clay tiles.

Officials said the finish line is in sight for the remainder of the repairs at the hotel. It looks forward to revealing the final results soon.

The atrium at the West Baden Springs Hotel reopened earlier this year, but it took longer to fix the clay tiles on the roof.
