Spartanburg reveals draft to spend leftover pandemic relief money [Video]

City of Spartanburg officials have revealed their first draft as to how to spend their remaining COVID-19 relief money. Officials Monday night presented a preliminary plan to allocate more than $7 million in leftover money from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. “Just to start the conversation with council,” Deputy City Manager Mitch Kennedy said. “We want them to influence the process, and so this was the first draft of our second phase of funding.”Spartanburg has until the end of the year to allocate the money. If not, the money must be returned to the the federal government.
