LifeSouth, WKRG blood drive receives record donations [Video]

UPDATE (6/21): WKRG News 5 and LifeSouth partnered on Thursday to host a blood drive at a time when blood donations are in critical need, and officials say it was a success.

At the end of yesterday’s blood drive, donations were calculated.

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — WKRG partnered with LifeSouth for our 10th Annual Season of Saving Summer blood drive. We were able to collect over 100 pints of blood for local hospitals.

According to LifeSouth workers, over 89 people donated blood today. They also said just one donation can save three people’s lives.

Angela Williams, District Community Development Coordinator at LifeSouth, said they were pleased with the turnout.
