90s F1 legend to have world’s tallest tower block named after him | World News [Video]

Designs have been unveiled for the world’s tallest residential building – and it will honour F1 legend Ayrton Senna.

The Senna Tower, which could stand at 500 metres high if built, will engulf the current tallest tower block – New York City’s Central Park Tower – by 18 metres.

Its home will be in the city of Balneário Camboriú in southern Brazil.

Construction firm FG Empreendimentos is behind the £415,000,000 concept, which was designed by Senna’s visual artist niece Lalalli.

Brazilian Senna is an F1 and sporting icon thanks to his no-holds barred racing style during the late 1980s and early 1990s.

He won three world championships during his career with McLaren before moving to Williams in 1994.

His life was tragically cut short aged 34 after a crash at the San Marino grand prix in May that year.
