5 young brothers seriously injured in explosion at storage unit, investigators say [Video]

BAGLEY, Minn. (KVLY/Gray News) – Five young boys are in critical condition after they were injured in an explosion at their Minnesota home.

The Bagley community is coming together to support the five brothers, who are between the ages of 6 and 14 years old.

A GoFundMe created to help pay for their medical expenses has been set up, raising nearly $34,000 as of Tuesday.

A family member who started the fundraiser said the boys were in critical condition and were air-lifted to a burn unit in Hennepin County.

She said the boys are stable. However, the burns range from 5% to 55% of their bodies. A surgeon informed the family that all of the boys will need surgery at some point in their recovery.

The Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of the explosion and fire at a storage unit north of Bagley around 12:30 p.m. Monday.
