The 49ers and future Hall of Fame left tackle Trent Williams are finalizing a new deal, his agency confirmed Tuesday.
Williams’ brother shared on social media that the 11-timer Pro Bowler was returning to the Bay Area on Monday night. Elite Loyalty Sports, Williams’ agency, wrote on Twitter/X that Williams was “headed to SF to finalize a new deal” with the 49ers.
This deal ends a prolonged contract dispute, and puts Williams back on the field, in arguably the most important position in football outside of quarterback.
The three-time All-Pro will be in line to start in the 49ers’ Week 1 matchup against the New York Jets on Monday Night Football.
