A private investigator has warned internet users on how everyday things they do online can make them easy to track.
Cassie Crofts, 36, is a licensed private investigator based in Queensland, Australia, and is the director of Venus Investigations, which she tells Newsweek she set up “after getting frustrated with the lack of support and safety measures for women using dating apps.”
“I saw so many friends go out with men who were either liars, catfish or just up to no good,” she explained, and afterwards, “we were able to dig up information online that would have served as a warning not to go on a single date with these men.”
She now offers a background check service, to “allow women to verify that information given to them by men on dating apps is true, as well as notifying them of any publicly available court records relating to the person.”
