3 detained following shooting at McCord Road Walmart, no injuries reported [Video]

HOLLAND, Ohio (WTVG) – Three people were detained Monday after authorities said a teenager inside the store fired shots after being assaulted.

According to a press release from the Holland Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Walmart on McCord Road around 4 p.m. for a call of an active shooter.

Law enforcement officials at the scene told 13 Action News a 17-year-old Walmart employee fired shots at two people who were allegedly trying to assault them. No one was struck by the gunfire.

A press release from the Holland Police Department later did not specify if the juvenile with a gun was an employee.

According to the press release, the incident began when two people assaulted another person inside the store. The person being assaulted then fired at the other two people. Only one shot was fired during the incident and no one was hit.
