Ghana’s president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has been recognised for his significant contributions to advancing cybersecurity in Ghana. The honor was bestowed upon him at the 2024 Cybersecurity Awards held on Friday, November 1, 2024.
This acknowledgment is part of a broader celebration of efforts to improve the country’s digital security landscape. Under his leadership, Ghana has made substantial progress in establishing frameworks and initiatives aimed at strengthening cybersecurity measures.
President Akufo-Addo received the award in-person at the ceremony, from by the Minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, and the Director-General of the Cybersecurity Authority, Dr. Albert Antwi-Boasiako.
The citation, presented with the recognition, highlights the president’s dedication to creating a secure digital environment, essential for national development and protecting citizens from cyber threats.
The award also recognises the collective progress made by various stakeholders in Ghana’s cybersecurity sector.
