Citrus County Fire Rescue said the fall took place on Christmas Day but went unreported until the next morning.
CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. — Two women were rescued Thursday morning after officials said they fell about 50 feet off of a cliff at a Citrus County golf course and were stranded overnight.
According to a press release, Citrus County Fire Rescue responded to reports of an “extreme fall” and significant medical incident at the Black Diamond Ranch Golf Course at around 10 a.m.
After arriving, first responders said they found the two women on The Quarry Course near Hole 17. They learned that the fall took place on Christmas Day but went unreported until the next morning.
CCF said they were able to rescue the two women from the bottom of the quarry using golf carts and then took them to a local trauma hospital for treatment.
