Two employees suffered injuries after an equipment malfunction at PPG’s coatings manufacturing facility in Springdale Thursday afternoon.
An explosion was reported at the plant with first responders reporting to the scene just before 1 p.m.
A spokesperson for PPG tells KDKA Radio that the two employees were evaluated for minor injures and the “site was evacuated as a precaution.”
“Local authorities were also on site this afternoon reviewing the equipment as a precaution,” said Mark Silvey, Director of Corporate Communications for PPG.
