The 8th Miracle on Ice Fantasy camp has come and gone in Lake Placid, where one dynamic family hockey duo celebrated their second straight year of camp together. Rob McClanahan, a member of the 1980 Team USA men’s hockey team which won the last gold medal for men’s hockey in winter Olympic history, is teaming up again with his daughter Sara McClanahan. In 2023, both Rob and Sara shared the ice as players, but after a recent shoulder surgery for Rob he did not play but still looked to coach Sara’s team up to victory while giving that extra fatherly push.”He still gets to coach me this year and tell me what to do, and I’m sure he’ll have fun with that,” Sara said.
